The Off-Road (Clinical) Assessment
- Interview about your medical and driving history.
- Physical assessment to determine any physical limitations, including range of motion, strength, tone, sensation, balance, and coordination in the trunk, neck, upper and lower limbs. Any pain you experience is also recorded.
- Cognitive tests to determine the presence of any difficulties with concentration, attention, memory, planning, insight, and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of current road rules to ensure you are aware of road rules and can apply these appropriately in driving situations.
- Brake reaction test to determine upper and lower limb response times within the driving task.
Requirements for an Occupational Therapy Driver Assessment
- A medical report from your doctor stating your medical condition, indicating your medical clearance to drive, and the need for an Occupational Therapy driving assessment.
- Medical certificate for motor vehicle driver Form 3712 completed by your Doctor.
- An eyesight report from an optometrist or ophthalmologist.
